Neneh Cherry first came to the fore in 1989 with her debut album ‘Raw Like Sushi’, including immortal hits ‘Buffalo Stance’ and ‘Manchild’. In the thirty years that followed, Cherry reinvented herself time and time again and experimented with hip hop, jazz and electronica. Thanks to collaborations with, among others, Youssou N’Dour (‘7 Seconds’), Massive Attack and Four Tet, Neneh Cherry succeeds in making each album sound different. In addition, she does not hesitate to address social issues through her music.
In 2018 she released her most personal album so far. On ‘Broken Politics’ she again shows a more than refreshing sound. The test of time clearly has no hold on Neneh Cherry!
