Londoners Josephine Vander Gucht and Anthony West don’t just share love and life, they’re also partners in musical crime as Oh Wonder. In 2014 we were introduced to this duo, when they released a new song on Soundcloud every first day of the month. The jolly and intimate alt-pop with hints of electro winks freely at The XX and London Grammer, and was welcomed with open arms by critics and fans alike. A year later, Vander Gucht and West decided to release the songs as their self-titled debut. It was the start of something wonderful for the duo, with follow-up ‘Ultralife’ arriving in 2017, and the band touring all of Europe and even beyond. In 2020 the band was planning a new tour to coincide with the release of third album ‘No One Else Can Wear Your Crown’, but then the pandemic happened. It didn’t just put the band’s plans on indefinite hold, but also threatened the love between the pair. Luckily, they managed to channel these struggles into a brilliant new record, ‘Break 22’. Today, the band is stronger than ever, both musically as in love, ready to take on the world once again.
