Keep all unnecessary ballast safe and sound in our lockers so you can go all out for your favourite band! On the Bargeplein you will find lockers of various sizes.

There are lockers with charging facilities so you can stay in touch at all times.

Starting this year, it is also possible to reserve your locker in advance. You can do so via this link.

Reusable cups

From June 15, 2023 it is mandatory from the government to serve drinks in reusable cups or recyclable beverage containers and we too want to do our part to contribute to an ecological festival experience! That is why we are working with reusable cups at Cactusfestival from this year on and also other (empty) beverage containers must be exchanged at one of our bars from this year on.

How does it work?

1. When scanning your festival ticket you will receive, depending on the type of ticket, 1, 2 or 3 eco vouchers.
Do you have a day ticket? Then you get 1 eco voucher. Do you have a 2-day ticket? Then you will receive 2 eco vouchers. Do you have a 3-day ticket? Then you get 3 eco vouchers. Every visitor, young and old, will immediately receive their eco vouchers for the entire festival.

2. When you get your first consumption, your eco voucher will be exchanged at the bar for a cup or other beverage container (can/bottle/…).
From that moment on, your empty cup or other empty beverage container will be exchanged for a new, full cup or other beverage container. You no longer need an eco voucher. Have you lost your eco voucher, cup or other beverage container? Then you pay 1 drink token on top of the drink price for a new cup or drink container.

3. At the end of the festival day, return your empty cup or other drink container to one of the bars or to our staff at the festival site.
Help us to keep the festival site clean and do not throw your cup on the ground or in one of the bins!

Earplugs, children’s headphones and sunscreen

For those who want to enjoy good music for a long time to come better take care of their ears. CM has your back! Every day, a mobile team will walk around the Bargeplein and the BAZAAR to provide you with appropriate protection. At our info stand you can also find earplugs and buy headphones for your kids (€25).

And while they’re at it, the people at CM will also make sure your skin stays eternally radiant, with their sunscreen at your service.

Breastfeeding your baby thanks to MamaStart

MamaStart provides a quiet corner on the festival site where you can breastfeed, warm up milk or a jar of food, change a nappy or pump at your leisure. There is an enclosed area with a fridge, a bottle warmer and a relaxing rocking chair.

MamaStart does not only help young mothers at the festival. Throughout the year, MamaStart supports pregnant women and young families who are (briefly) struggling financially with advice and materials. More info and support options at mamastart.be.

Safety procedures & guidelines

Safety procedures & guidelines

Safety procedures

The safety of our festival visitors, artists and their crew, staff and local residents is always a major concern for the organisation of Cactus Festival. Safety procedures are established in consultation with the police, emergency services and city authorities. Visitors may be subject to a personal search and are expected to cooperate. Small backpacks and bags (max. 45 cm high) are welcome in the festival park after being checked. Visitors are expected to open them spontaneously at the entrance and show their contents to the security officers concerned.

Guidelines

Clear guidelines have been established regarding things that are and are not allowed (see below). Every effort is made to make additional checks as smooth as possible.

Tip!

Come lightly packed! Do not bring unnecessary items. Leave bags and backpacks at home if possible. Large backpacks (higher than 45 cm) are not welcome anyway. We would like to thank all festival visitors for their understanding and cooperation to make it a fun and safe Cactus festival together!

Not welcome on the festival site:

Mission

Mission

Cactus Muziekcentrum vzw aims to profile itself as a professional and permanent music centre in the non-classical music sector. The term “music centre” signifies an operation as music club, concert and festival organisation and educational centre for music.

In profiling as a music centre the focus lies on the artist/musician and his/her work. Cactus Muziekcentrum vzw aims to be a platform where artists can present their work in optimal and professional conditions and in doing so come to a meaningful encounter with the audience.

Our activities can’t be separated from what’s happening in the broader society. From its own position and point of view Cactus Muziekcentrum vzw intends to take into account and anticipate certain evolutions and phenomena that are up for discussion: globalisation and immigration, technological innovation and digitalisation, changing social connections and relations and their importance for social cohesion, ecology and durability.

As a non-profit organisation Cactus Muziekcentrum vzw invests all potential profits in making future concerts and projects possible. This way we can offer opportunities to artists that are difficult to program from financial consideration.
