| Born in Poitiers, France, Jehnny Beth spent years at the helm of the phenomenal post-punk band Savages before beginning to release solo work in 2020. Under her own name, Beth remains true to her steel-forged moral compass: political awareness and outspoken feminism still form the core of her songs. Instead of the stoic, austere sound of Savages, Jehnny Beth unleashes her demons on ‘TO LOVE IS TO LIVE’ (2020) and ‘You Heartbreaker, You’ (2025) in a whirlwind of vicious industrial beats, abrasive guitars and frenzied vocals. That this will spark live is beyond doubt. Together with her band, Jehnny Beth does not come to please, but to overpower.
