With their saudade-infused mix of electronica, art pop, and alternative Latin, Ão has grown into one of the most exciting acts in the Belgian music scene. The quartet defies any genre label and continues to push their musical boundaries without losing their unique sound.

Brenda Corijn, drawing from her Mozambican-Portuguese roots, sings in both Portuguese and English. Her warm voice blends seamlessly with the southern-style guitar playing of Siebe Chau, the subtle electronic elements of Jolan Decaestecker, and Bert Peyffers’ eclectic percussion work. Live, Ão delivers a captivating experience that has already enchanted audiences across Europe. Their dynamic sound — ranging from fragile melodies to danceable beats — immerses you in their spellbinding world.

Both on their debut album ‘Ao Mar’ (2023) and on ‘Malandra’, released earlier this year, Ão proves that they occupy a truly unique place in the Belgian music landscape. They are now also gaining recognition abroad, with the band already achieving their first sold-out AB show. With performances in our Café, Club, and at Cactusfestival 2024, Cactus has supported them at every step of their journey. Now that they are taking things to the next level, we are delighted to welcome this rising Belpop sensation back to Minnewaterpark.
