Since his grand return in 2018 with the stunning record ‘Silent Days’, The Bony King of Nowhere has found a powerful second wind. Under this pseudonym, Belgian singer-songwriter Bram Vanparys has been breaking hearts since 2009, and with this beautifully alt-country-tinged comeback album, he firmly established himself in the canon of Belgian pop music. The album earned Vanparys four- and five-star reviews across the country, as well as a MIA award in the category of ‘Best Songwriter-Composer’. His promise never to repeat himself and to always surpass his previous work set the bar high for a follow-up – so it’s no surprise it took some time. But last year, The Bony King of Nowhere finally confirmed his comeback with the stunning ‘Everybody Knows’, a masterpiece of the highest caliber that connects his love for classic singer-songwriters like Neil Young and Bob Dylan with subtle experimentation in the vein of Radiohead. Above all, The Bony King of Nowhere remains himself: one of our finest songwriters and vocalists, with more tricks up his sleeve than the average illusionist. Hard to believe, but after several performances at Cactus Club, The Bony King of Nowhere will now take the stage at Cactusfestival for the very first time. As always, he will be joined by his full band – so sleepy heads, consider yourselves warned! This will be an electrifying performance. Long overdue! |
